Yves Saint Laurent RTW F/W 2007 in Paris Fashion Week

Stefano Pilati is definitely one of my favorite designers now. As I have been saying, he by far exceeds Tom Ford in terms of ability to design something that is creative and beautiful, incorporating Mr. Yves Saint Laurent's vision without giving up his own person style. His collection for YSL is one of my favorite from the season. It certainly did take me a while to digest the oversized cut trend of the season, since I incline to like clothing that shows curves and body shape. Oversize in winter is also bad in the sense that it will further take away your incentive to lose weight in the cold winter since now you are not only able to hide behind coat, but really roomy coat! Nonetheless, Pilati convinced me with his collection, as the clothes can actually be oversized, with interesting cut, in gray, yet still look feminine and refined! Pilati has done a good job modernizing all the unconventional shapes from YSL each season and this season is not an exception. I also love the way he does fur, the fur coat looks easy and light on the body and not suffocating the woman in immensely thick pelt of fur. I also really love the fur neckwarmer. Neckwarmer is always practical and easy for winter since you can just put it on and won't have to worry about it falling off or not staying in place to keep you warm, however the downside is its usually rather hard to look polished and elegant with the neckwarmer look. Doing neckwarmer in fur certainly glams it up and make it appropriate even for evening.
