Chanel RTW F/W 2007 in Paris Fashion Week

Underwhelmed and unexcited is probably an euphemism of what I feel about the latest collection from my once favorite house of Chanel. I once was really impressed by how Karl Lagerfeld is about to update the classic Chanel look, taking the classic black and white, camellia motif, and tweed suit to create elegant, feminine, yet envogue and chic look. This is another Chanel meets London Punk look from Karl, when this look was first introduced, I did think it was quite ingenius. It gave an edge to the classic look and let Chanel appeal to the younger generation of fashionistas. However, I am starting to get bored of the same concept done over and over again. Particularly in this collection, there is too much punk and too little elegant for Chanel. The pieces are by no means ugly but they look uninspired and certainly would not appeal to people who have own several versions of Chanel's tweed coat/ jackets. Karl, please give us something new for a change!
