Since I talked about Galliano last post, why don't we have a look at his show? Although I'm not a big fan of John's personal style, he's undeniably one great talent in today's fashion scene. Although his shows are often over the top and not very wearable, there is always a huge dramatic and artistic element to every show, be it Dior RTW, Dior Couture, or his own John Galliano line, there always seem to be a theme and his shows are almost theatrical art. Enough said, I seriously love the Dior RTW for S/S 2007. Fur is always in every F/W (yeah, you PETA people can keep protesting), and this season Galliano used fur in such unconventional way that adds interest to the look. The dyed-to-match fur actually works really good together with the rich hue which is also a great hit for the season.
This collection is dramatic, and full of saturated hue and grey, which makes it trendy for the season. Surprisingly, this show is not only quite wearable but also reminds me of the classic Christiona Dior "New Look", thanks to the clean impeccable cuts, fitted jackets and full skirts; while the strong colour and organza dresses makes it so Galliano still nonetheless. And I love the chained bags in the bright colours! The colour gives a youthful touch, making it day appropriate, and the chain makes it elegant enough for the evening. One of these bags with head to toe black or head to toe gray would look so cool!
